“disorganising is a project between West Space, Liquid Architecture and Bus Projects; an open and expanding conversation that looks to experiment with divergent ways of organising and creating. It is a practice of coming together and collectively building an arts ecology that sustains us and our communities.“
Over a span of a year, Xen Nhà and I were collectively employed by three organisations, West Space, Liquid Architecture and Bus Projects to be the editor and producer respectively on the disorganising project - a project formed by the directors of each organisation when they simultaneously lost multi-year funding from Creative Australia (then known as Australia Council).
With the participation of a long list of contributors, we all looked to question and experiment with what disorganising could be. This took the form of composting workshops, critical writing exercises, conversations with other arts organisations, newsletters, dinners, performances and creating a workbook.
